Retirement Strategies

Our grandparents talked about making it to retirement age, our parents talked about retiring early and the current generation are asking if they will ever be able to afford to retire.

The fact is that we all need to plan for retirement rather than let it just happen, assuming of course that health and good fortune enable us to reach an age at which retirement is an option.

It must be remembered that a plan or strategy is not cast in stone and the best strategies are always flexible enough to accommodate changes that may occur around us. The simplest plan of all is to work until the state retirement age, take the state pension and then struggle to make ends meet. This may not seem a very desirable plan but it is still a plan. At the other end of the scale there is the plan to retire at the age of 30 with no debts, millions in the bank and the opportunity to enjoy the rest of your days lazing aboard your luxury yacht.

The reality for most of us will hopefully be somewhere in between, but we all need to have a plan of how we are going to achieve our goals. This is where we come in; we can sit down with you and discuss with you what you would like to achieve and how you can realistically go about it so that, in conjunction with your IFA, we can all work towards getting you to the place that you desire.
