VAT Advice

VAT was introduced in the early 1970's as a 'simple tax' to replace the previous 'complicated' sales tax and now some 40 years later VAT is about as complicated a tax as anyone could have ever imagined.

Although VAT is a very complicated tax, thankfully it generally is not that difficult and most of your day-to-day questions can be answered by the team at Moulton Johnson. Things such as, 'when do I need to be registered? Should I be using a fixed rate scheme or cash accounting and what is the difference? Should I charge VAT on a sale to a company in France? '.

There are occasions when someone will come up with a question that we don't know the answer to and that is when our years of being in business come into play. You see, over the last 25 or so years we have built up strong links with a number of specialist firms and therefore when someone comes up with a question that we don't know the answer to, we do know who we can trust to give us the correct answer.
